Still Life Printmaking
Students used their flower vase sculptures as inspiration for still-life monoprints. We talked about looking closely, learned how to roll an even layer of ink onto the plate, and worked quickly but carefully to create prints. One of the best things about printmaking is that it’s unpredictable, you never quite know what’s been picked up until you lift the paper.
Next, we added rubber stampers to create repeating “tablecloth” patterns and arranged everything into playful, layered compositions. It’s such a fun way to take a 3D creation and explore it in print from a whole new angle.
